Our client manages the supply of essential utilities to tenants within an industrial development zone. Manual readings of utility consumption data was slow & cumbersome due to remote location of the installed meters. The process was also prone to human errors resulting in incorrect billing. The client required a more efficient method to obtain consumption data in order to automate the billing process. A key requirement was integration of real-time water & electricity data to ArcGIS for visualization & analytics purposes. With many sites located in remote areas with no available power, a rugged, off-grid solution was needed for data collection at the edge.
